As freq. in Hom., absol., he ( she , it ), his (etc.): Ac 17:28 (quoted from the poet Aratus). Distributive, ὁ μὲν . . . ὁ δέ , the one . . . the other : I Co 7:7 , Ga 4:22 ; pl., Ac 14:4 , 17:32 , Phl 1:16 , al.; οἱ μὲν . . . ἄλλοι δέ , Mt 16:14 , Jo 7:12 ; οἱ μεν̀ . . . ὁ δέ , He 7:21 , 23 . In narration (without ὁ μὲν preceding), ὁ δέ , but he : Mt 2:14 , Mk 1:45 , Lk 8:21 , Jo 9:38 , al. mult.
