1 πανήγυρις , -εως, ἡ ( πᾶς + ἄγυρας = ἀγορά ), [in LXX: Ho 2:11 ( 13 ) 9:5, Ez 46:11 ( מוֹעֵד ), Am 5:21 ( עֲצָרָה )*;] prop., a national festal assembly in honour of a god; hence, generally, any festal assembly : He 12:23 (for exx. in π. , v. MM, xviii).† SYN. : ἐκκλησία (q.v.), συναγωγή .
