Trans. = πλήσσω , to strike , smite : absol., ἐν μαχαίρᾳ , Lk 22:49 ; c. acc. pers., Mt 26:51 , Lk 22:50 ; c. acc. rei, Ac 12:7 ; of a deadly blow, Mt 26:31 , Mk 14:27 , Ac 7:24 .
